Homage to Rothko #14 Painting

This piece is inspired by the theater production entitled "Red". The struggle for meaning and purpose to his work while in the face of celebrity challenged Mark Rothko in his later years. He continued to explore art and its expression of emotion through the use of movement and color. This work captures the depth of character that is signature to Rothko's work. With layered complexity, the movement and color draw you into the magic and mystery that Rothko hoped to inspire.
