Blue, Yellow and Red is a classic combination. I have added also a green composition for a wider possibility to arrange the hanging of this series dedicated to Robert Indiana. The red one is actually created in May of 2018. The 19th of May Robert Indiana left us. Some days after I had finished the Red Composition for him. Why him? Beginning of May 2018,I had thought so intensely about him and his work LOVE that I decided to create an artwork for him, but in my way and my style I currently work with.

About The Artwork

Wellcome! This work is dedicated to Robert Indiana. I had finished the first one called Hommage to Robert Indiana in Red some days before Robert Indiana left us on May 19th 2018. His work LOVE had come so strong in my mind, that I decided to create a series of 4 artworks for him. It would be in Blue, Yellow, Red and Green I had decided. Having worked with the human body in large scale using charcoal drawings for many years, I committed towards abstract landscapes in 2015. I am passionate about working on paper blending drawing materials with ink, acrylic or oil. I use similar painting techniques when working on canvas. I am interested in the process to let go of the outcome. This painting is created with layers of fine line drawings, inks, acrylic on high quality Hahnemühle paper, 265 g, stretched on a stretcher. On first sight you can't see it is on paper. The paper is nicely folded and stretched on canvas and the canvas is stretched on a wooden stretcher. This gives a fine body and exclusive presentation. I use paper as it allows me to merge drawing and painting more effective. The artwork is uplifting with presence and beauty, Carita Schmidt is featured Artist by Saatchi Art in the collection "Flora and Fauna" in November 2019. Thank you for looking!
