ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Idea: A new interpretation of the lost image. Having faith despite circumstances. Moving forward despite circumstances. Overcoming the apparent. Craving for good fortune. Hope. Description: This idea persisted in my mind for quite a long time. When I was a kid I made an applique work similar to this picture. At the hospital, the image revisited my mind, now in a new interpretation. I think we should always move forward. Despite all the bad expectations. Despite all the people in the world who say your plans are unrealizable. Just keep moving forward. Because... well, you may succeed. --- Original art by Sergey Es from his Afternoon Dreams Varnished, comes ready to hang. Gallery quality Premium, environmentally friendly, cotton canvas wrapped around the frame, painted around the edges to compliment the artwork & doesn’t need framing. This painting is unique. Artwork will be sent to you carefully packed in protective packaging.

I’m an outsider artist, working in Art Brut style in my own way, which I call psychoart. In my works I explore reality, thoughts and ideas, passing them through the prism of my vision, partly formed by the disease - schizophrenia. The main subject I work with is the transformation of images, concepts, ideas, forms and meanings in the consciousness and unconscious of an individual whose thinking is qualitatively and fundamentally different from the generally accepted standards and norms. I explore the influence of my mental characteristics on understanding processes such as art, creativity, and the search for meaning. The process of creation in my work differs from the classical one in that it is controlled by the periphery of the unconscious or by something or someone, but not by me. I do not work on artwork in the ordinary sense, as other artists do, I do not select colors, I do not build a composition. I ask the Universe a question and get an answer in the form of an image, which I then transfer to the canvas. Often the view comes in a dream or half-sleep. I do fine art with children suffering from mental disorders and diseases. In our society, mental illness is something shameful, although it is as tragic as cancer, for which the patient is not guilty. I try to change the attitude of the established majority opinion to this issue.
