ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Horizons 1" is a story about lush life emerging from layers of golden opulence. The piece plays with intense color and dream-like texture, inviting you to explore the mysterious depths of our subconscious. It is a point of departure for thought into who we could become if we perceive life as our oyster. I started this piece without preconceived notions of where the process will go. There is something magical about spontaneous painting, as I have limited conscious control over the output - the rest is emotion and serendipity. I build up layers using various painting techniques with large body movements so the final piece is a texture of meaning carrying as much mystery as you let yourself uncover.
