Horsehead Mesa Painting

This painting, which was completed on December 25th in 1982, Christmas. The painting is part of a three piece series. It is 4 feet wide by 8 feet tall and I did it on Masonite, which makes it all the more colorful and brilliant. This name for this painting is "Horsehead Mesa". Another painted which was directly inspired by the 35+ years of camping in the wilderness I did throughout my life. Those experiences forged what I painted, how I painted, and sometimes why I painted. If I had to think back, this looks a little like Utah and even a bit like Arizona. It has two sister paintings, one being "Mountain Meadows" and the other being "Centuries Sentries". All over sized pieces of art, all done in stunning color and ultimately fine detail. For, I paint really lightly, putting down only as much paint as is needed to get my idea painted on something. The three paintings of this series were commissions, meant to be installed at the end of well lit hallways in a large home. Allowing for a quick escape from the confines of the walls and into the great outdoors. These three beauties are definitely breathtaking. The commissioner sold the house he had commissioned this for, in turn allowing me to keep the deposit as well as the paintings. Upon purchase, a new simple frame will be expertly constructed to fit the painting, before being placed in its padded shipping crate, given a final goodbye, and finally sent off to its new home. I'm asking $100k, gallery commission in tow. Buy all three over sized pieces of art and I'll knock off 10%!!!
