About The Artwork
When you hide the head of the horse on the right, the image becomes abstract. You have to let your mind wander in it to discover more horses, the water on the lower right with the reflection of the horse, and a dream but also dynamic landscape. The painting is made with three hues of blue: prussian blue, cerulian, and indigo (the black blue). Kapnissi (Athens, 1966) studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University in Greece and at the Free Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague, the Netherlands; for a period as a NUFFIC grantee. She is founding member of the Gaidaro group which from 1999-2008 presented projects advocating for wide participation in the art practice and presentation.
