Hot Summer Evening Painting

Elena Morozova was born in 1994 in Latvia. She has always been fascinated with art and in 2014 chose to pursue a career in painting. She received formal training in drawing and painting in the studio of two artists – Ludmila Perec and Alexander Pahomov (2008-2015). In 2015 Elena enrolled into the Art Academy of Latvia where in 2019 she received a Bachelor’s degree in painting. Elena’s greatest fascination is color. She believes that by means of color an artist can communicate the subtlest feelings, moods and emotions. In her works, Elena strives to depict the outside world through the lens of the inner world and combines her academic painting skills with her own expressive manner of depicting the subject. Some of her paintings are a tribute to the beauty of the natural world, others have symbolic meaning. Her primary medium is oil paint. For Elena, painting has always been something that she does from a place of joy and happiness. She draws her inspiration from the things she sees and experiences in her everyday life. Elena’s greatest artistic influences are such masters of painting as Rembrandt, Van Gogh and 19th century Impressionist and Post-impressionist painters. Currently Elena lives and works in her hometown Riga, she has participated in numerous exhibitions. Her works are in private collections in Latvia and abroad.
