About The Artwork
Behind this painting is a story from old slavic mythology. There is a saying in my people "You can't meet someone until you eat a bag of salt with him." But older and original version says "You can't meet someone until you eat a bag of ASH with him". It's from ancient times when the food was prepared on the hearth. Domovoi is mythological being, friendly to the people, a being who cares about harmony among people who lives in one home. Here he helps them get to know each other better. White bee is a term denoting a distant ancestor. Original artwork, painted using high quality schmincke oil colors. Canvas is stretched on wooden bars, so ready to hang.

I was born in Leskovac, in 1973. Although I grew up watching the paintings of old masters of Renaissance, Baroque and Realism, contemporary painters had a decisive influence on my painting. Russian painters, as well as Scandinavian and German masters, had the greatest influence on my painting of the landscape. Today, I live and paint in Grdanica, small village in South-East Serbia, in Jablanica district. I am member of the artistic group Barti who works in my country Serbia. From exhibit opening in Perunov gallery 2016: "Dejan Trajkovic painting depicts energy that is in constant circulation, one durability that is reflected through water, the river. This concentric circle of truth, is reflected in the prism of hyperrealism, light, photographic accuracy. The painting is a frozen moment.
