About The Artwork

How the Light Gets in is not only the title of this painting but is also the heading under which I have painted a large series of paintings depicting and observing how very humble plants/weeds/bare tree branches take on a role more centre stage when light plays over them and dances with them. It's all about looking and looking again. Nothing is too humble. Everything has a story. There is beauty and bounty all round us.

Painting mainly in oils. Working mainly in representational art rarely abstract. Portrait and Life Study work. Fascinated by nature and in particular the effects of light on plants and trees. Also working on city scapes particularly my favourite places in London...though other cites and urban scenes are available! Also printmaking work particularly monotype and dry point engraving. Exploring lithography.
