ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Human Clay...looking into how we are shaped as humanity, individually and collectively. "Each of my pots is quite unusable, even for contemplating as an object of gross unuse. In it's own mode of being useless though, each of them remains unique, subject to nothing, and themselves unseeing, stronger by virtue of what makes them weak." Excerpt from the poem The Mad Potter by John Hollander I believe in the ability of art to transform your environment into a place of inspiration. I believe that art can evoke feelings and is essential for our individuality. This original work on wood panel is acrylic varnished for durability and saturation of colour with edges painted in deep charcoal and arrives ready to hang with no further framing required. Meaningful, tactile paintings worthy of admiration, recognition and collection.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

As an independant artist, I invest myself in creating pieces that touch the soul; to have an individual experience in humanity, emotion and to spark the imagination. What do I want my art to say? We are all connected through life and experiences. This inspires me to work and create. I want people to see our connection. I am a studio painter with a process that leads to multi-layered abstracts. Abstract Expressionism is my genre of choice but I lean toward an aesthetic of minimalism. I want strong detail, harmonious composition and a serene outcome. As a Canadian painter who grew up in Windsor, Ontario and now lives in the Algoma Region of Northern Ontario, I received influences from the strong automotive industry combined with the beauty of the Algoma landscape where many of the Group of Seven painted. Oh, and by the way, you pronounce Jackie Janisse just like Henri Matisse.
