ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Always inspired by the complex layers of Joan Mitchell's paintings, I created this piece while at an art retreat. Throughout the week it evolved through use of color and mark making with a variety of brushes and found objects, including those found in nature. With tis painting, I like to "zoom" on one area and observe the many layers. During critique at the end of the week, the instructor commented that she wished I had photographed the process as she had no idea how this all started. Hence the title.
