Painting: Acrylic, Genuine Gold leaf , Tempera on Canvas.
Like all my pictures, I started this one, thinking of a different title. I saw the infinitely turquoise ocean, and the bottomless blue sky, golden splashes of surf in the rays of the setting sun, and the barely perceptible movement of the feather grass from a slight sigh of wind ... White canvas offers an infinite number of options for the names of the future picture. I rarely start working right after the stretcher frame is assembled and the canvas is stretched. Even just a primed canvas - already obliges! Smooth, almost brilliant white Gecco or rough, grainy ocher? Pearly-silky Gofun, who for decades waited under the Kyoto sun to transform into pigment from oyster shell? Copper, gold, iron powder? Or natural linen canvas?
No, "obliges" is the wrong word. Inspiring?
Leads - that's the right word. It's like you're going on a trip ...
