I snatched Kim Chi's wig. Painting

While being in lockdown I've realized that a lot of our aesthetic identity is attached to our hair. Drag Queens perhaps have best understood this, and I've been inspired by some of the most visually individualistic queens to create this series. This particular piece was inspired by Rupaul's Drag race's Kim Chi and the blue hue is an eyeshadow shade from her makeup line. The focus of the piece is the hair, the marble background is there to support the stylistic quality of the detail that goes into this wig. Pop-culture meets present-day circumstances, while we don't have access to salons etc, we can recognize the individualism that hair is to many creatives. | No hanging hardware is included! | Black Marble design is painted on the sides.|
