ICC_03 Painting

When you're being asked to comfort yourself and visualize something peaceful: do you picture a beach? A forest maybe? I retreat to 1970s architecture, its warm colours, complex forms, intersecting levels, and its interplay with hanging greenery. Berlin's International Congress Center, built in 1979, is one of the finest examples of this era's architecture and my monumental place of retreat. This painting is the third one of a series, done in acrylics on paper. There is more and larger paintings to come, in oil on canvas and even more and larger ones currently in the making.
