About The Artwork
The first of a series of portraits I paint on the theme of vanity and the search for the "perfect beauty" in today's society. An artificial beauty built for the pursuit of perfection, on the basis of popular physical ideals dictated by reality TV, cinema & fashion. To paint these portraits, I was inspired by Religious Icons. I used mixed medias on wood, gold leaves technique, acrylic, oil, pencil and the "image transfer" technique.
