ABOUT THE ARTWORK
From a series of paintings "Silk Path" created after an artist residency in Japan, Tokyo Wonder Site. Inspired by a study of traditional use of color in painting and prints on silk and kimonos. Abstracted from the color of Japanese textiles into color field abstract composition on the large scale canvas. Working with contemplation of color fields and their interactions creating a constant vibration between them.(Artist education: MA in Fine Arts/ MFA Film directing).

(). Her formal training includes an MA in Fine Arts (Painting and Lithography) and an MA in Film Directing from Béla Tarr’s radical film.factory program in Sarajevo. She has exhibited in many art institutions internationally. Recently her works were presented at White Box Gallery, London, as well as The Mall Galleries, London, during the Royal Society of British Artists’ 200th anniversary exhibition. With respect for the great non-figurative modernists of the past and uncompromising dedication to abstract expressionism based on “organic geometry” and color theory, Niemczyk paints sensual but complex aesthetics, colors, and compositions in carefully applied proportions.
