ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Crystalline and fluid at once, Ice inspires this painting. Both the interior and exterior, the structure and flow of ice melting in icebergs are imagined in this painting, envisioned as caverns of ice once forming from, and now joining with, waters of the sea. After having witnessed icebergs melt and crash into the sea near Alaska, one experiences the dramatic consequences of climate change. Yet moments in the process can still be artistically striking and beautiful.
