About The Artwork
Part of an on-going series called 12" X 12" Waterways; this painting is part of a triptych inspired by a very cold walk on the lakeshore in Sleeping Bear National Park, in Michigan. These baby-bergs had broken off from the shore in beautiful, mysterious shapes. I was thinking about the art-historical iceberg paintings of American landscape painter, Frederic Church.
