ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Handwritten icon of the Holy Matrona of Moscow. Size 12x10x1.7 cm. Materials; lime board, grass, levkas, 23 carat gold leaf, egg tempera, linseed oil. The icon is written in strict observance of the canon and the ancient technology of iconography, in fasting and prayer. Saint Matrona is one of the most revered saints in Russia. She was known for her miracles and predictions during her lifetime. It helps in any life situations. One only has to sincerely ask and pray before the image of the Holy Matron.
