Do you know the Japanese "iki" concept? Shuzo Kuki, a Japanese philosopher writes about "Iki" in 1931 as a concept which exists only in Japan and he says Iki is too unique and too japanese to be translated in any other languages. He talked about Japanese Geisha in his book. In relation to men and women, he emphasizes that Geisha are not consumed physically and kept as a very beautiful relationship by keeping duality between men and them, in short, this relationship is expressed as "iki". He also considers how such philosophical concepts will be represented by architecture and art, and I have expressed his "iki" faithfully by oil painting. This artwork is a set of 3 panels of canvas, each size is 53cm×33.3cm.
