The artist depicts with expressive strokes a road going up to the sky, along which a lone silhouette moves toward the horizon by overcoming the flows of earthly forces. Small ramshackle houses with empty windows are lined up in a row like phantom-ghosts. The human figure has to climb a step by step before he will find himself beyond the walls of an illusory town of the illusory world, built in his own consciousness. Over there, at the top against the background of a live heavenly canvas, a construction is seen which reminds from outside a dolmen, “his own place”, the entrance to which is symbolically painted by the same color as the figure of the man. It is at that place, rising above stereotypes and conventions, man finds calm and soothing of his restless soul in harmony with the heavenly order.

Alexey Klokov's perception of the world of art and the trajectory of his life in it were formed due to Anatoly Zverev who carried along young Alexey into the world of avant-garde combining all the palette of genres and styles. Alexey Klokov has got professional education in 1986-1991, already after the death of his genial mentor, in a Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry. The two-year probation in restoration workshops in Hermitage and Tretyakov Gallery became a momentous period when he was lucky to be literally in touch with the greatest masterpieces of Picasso, Matisse, Gauguin, Renoir, Van Gogh, Malevich, Kandinsky and others, learning from them "without words". Upon finishing the probation, Alexey made an unexpected choice and settled down in an orthodox monastery where during four years he learned the secrets of gilding and drawing by cognizing from inside not only the matter of iconography but also the deepest power of Divine providence embodied in the image. Since 1998 Alexey Klokov began to create his own style based on his philosophical thoughts and synthesis of impressionism, fauvism, cubism, expressionism, and abstractionism. With the experience of a restorer, he skillfully applies in his art gold leaf, antique objects, coins and gold. He had 25 personal exhibitions, worked in Japan and United Kingdom. In 2011 he came back to Russia and joined the Creative Union of Russian Artists. During his life created more than 4,000 artworks.
