ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a picture of my daughter Milana, 15 years old. This is her first painting. She drew it as part of our "3 year 144 Hobbies" experiment. We decided to sell all the paintings so that we could have more money for travel. Milana: "I decided to paint this picture to convey the emotions associated with impostor syndrome - a state when a person doesn't believe in their abilities and feels like a fraud. In the painting, I depicted a girl who is a symbol of many people suffering from this syndrome and showed her inner struggle. The colors used in the painting reflect a bright and colorful world that is beyond the personal sphere of the girl, but her scratches and the gesture of scratching her face indicate that she cannot free herself from her internal obstacles."
