In Black and White Painting

“Pictorial space is a wall but all the birds of the world can fly freely within it at all depths“ Nicolas de Staël I was born in Hull, in Western Quebec, where I grew up in a loving and caring family. As far as I can remember, I always enjoyed depicting what I could see around me. And when I was young, I would use any available surface on which to draw my pictures : wet soil, the walls in my bedroom and blank pages from my school notebooks. As seasons come and go, I walk in the Gatineau hills where I find continuing sources of inspiration in the changing colours of the scenery: the light pastel tints of Spring, the many shades of green in Summer, the stunning and vibrant palette of Fall, and the glittering white snow with the its shadows of trees sleeping under the winter sun. I studied arts at the University of Ottawa with specialization in painting and this gave me useful tools for my creative work. I later obtained a certificate in education from the University of Quebec in the Outaouais. I taught in various high schools and always supported my students in the development of their creative abilities. In the past years, femininity perspectives, gestional processes and clouds are recurring themes and subjects in my work.
