In The Company Of A Pineapple Painting

This still life is part of my new series “When life gives you lemons... Paint them!!!” A piece inspired by a quick stop at one of our local independent green grocers. I couldn’t resist this pineapple with it’s two seperate foliage stems growing out of the top. After we eat this gorgeously fragrant fruit I’m going to plant the tips and hope for some home grown fruit. Painting this piece has been a work of joy, the fragrance from the fruit as divine and intoxicating as a posy of fragrant roses. Here it sits in the company of bananas and home grown lemon and grapefruit. This painting is slightly textured with visible brush strokes and is ready to hang with wire at the back.
