ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is part of my series 'Affinities.' I was inspired by my observation that while people may disagree on topics like politics or religion, we share many of the same passions, interests and memories. Our choices in clothes, music and animals tell the story of who we are, what we value and where we come from. I would like the viewer to relate to the companionship of our animals, the references to vintage t-shirts, vinyl records, decorative patterns, tattoos, jewelry.

With a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Wisconsin, M.A. in Fine Art from the University of New Mexico, a background in graphic design and experience as a museum curator, her art practice and design work bleed into one another.
