ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inertia no. 3 is a painting from inertia series. It is a quadriptych of two 60/40 cm and two 40/40 cm canvas. Inertia is my recent series of oil paintings, mostly landscapes painted with a very banaced bluish-greish pallete. Inertia stand for lack of action, absence of movement. Looking at those paintings I feel a sense of stagnation and melancholy but not in a bad sense. They are an formalistic ideas captured in time. All the paintings from Inertia series are painted on best quality canvases with oil paint. Some of the paintings are diptychs, triptychs or even quadriptychs. Those painted on miltiply canvases may be presented in a various different ways like installation. Most of Inertia compositions (also color compositions) are disturbed either by empty space (in case of istalling them seperately) or geometrical lines or outlines. The reason for that is to highlight the toned but sophisticated color palet but also gave them a modern kick. The series is perfect for modern and minimalistic interiors, blue-grey pallet makes them fit to almost every wall color.

Aleksandra Osa was born in Poland in 1988. She graduated Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2015 in Faculty of Painting. Her works have been featured at solo and collective exhibitions in Poland, GB and USA.
Aleksandra has experimented with several mediums, such as acrylics, ink, gauche, but the oils tend to be her most preferred medium. In her works the artist attempts to interpret reality thorough her own artistic resources, simultaneously maintaining a semblance of realism. Her art is inspired by her own environment, treating the subject merely as an excuse for the search of artistic form. Aleksandra was working as an animator for Loving Vincent project.
