I am first a sculptor before a painter, and a poet before a writer. I fuse all l am together, spiritually, in creating art. I live a creative life and uphold the fact that living one's dream is a creative fulfilment. My art is subjectively and universally inspired by diversity and my core inspirations are most often mirrored against the Holy Writ, as that is where my innermost voice erupts from. My insistence is that since my work personifies my Spiritual discernment, many find themselves involved in it as me in a religious manner, if not politically discerning, while others define it/me as uncategorized. I am an artist that adores each and every work of art that l create and my works are a total reflection of my inner man, whom l can define as undiluted, pure, enlightened and significantly beautiful. I sculpt and paint myself in other words. As an artist, l believe it is my cross to provide great quality of works of art to the world that informs, provokes, challenges, confuses and yet inspires, whether l have sculpted, modelled, written, printed or painted and to help mentor upcoming artists. ARTIST’S STATEMENT Reduction of visual fact is a surface of my work that lies over various layers and textures which represent, on a larger scale, my life’s journey, socially, politically and spiritually. My work and life engage spiritually, bringing the outside in to invigorate it to the outside. I use found objects to convey my stories through their sentimental value that resonates to my spirituality, in sculpture as a medium yet in my paintings as a metaphor for texture, being and feel. I am encapsulated in interesting life stories of a withered object lying in it and over it. The mystery of a found object resonates to my emotions, feelings are thus executed as a synonym to these layers. l choose to use paper to paint on for its tenderness which pars the same in me, hessian which allows me to bring both softness and hardness, and sculpture which allows me to express the raw hardness of my nature and these objects that have outlived their weaker subordinates. The equality status that l par with my materials personifies us as one body, inseparable kinship that asserts our invaluable connection in speaking the same language. The relativity negates religiousness but confirms the individuals’ invaluable spirituality.
