ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by Wolf Kahn I painted a series of 20 paintings to learn more about color after they are all done I'll be done with my color journey. I'll also be done painting in his style and have a new appreciation for what he does. Below is one of my favorites!! I love violet and teal and the brush strokes on this painting really lend to its moody feeling.

I'm an artist living in Central Illinois who is inspired by color and Wolf Kahn. I would consider myself more of a colorist than an artist. I have my own system for color and stick to a loose routine and rules. Something that was difficult in the beginning for me but in following Wolf's work I became more adapted to it over time. I try to use color as a compositional element rather than an emotional or decorative element. It’s not about expertise its much simpler I believe in good color theory and unlocking a paints truest potential.
