Interference Painting

Kevin Cross is a mostly self taught, Irish painter based in New York City. He was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland. In 2006 he moved to New York City where he began his art practice. His work has been shown nationally and is held in private collections around the world. Drawing inspiration from nature, including skyscapes and seascapes, Kevin’s work examines the relationship between light and color using subtle gradients and contrasting geometric shapes and crisp lines. In his latest body of work curved shapes and linear motifs introduce a more organic feel to his abstract paintings creating a contemplative and reflective mood for the viewer. An interesting side-note, Kevin is colorblind which presents a challenging twist to his color explorations.
