About The Artwork

The painting was inspired by observing the day to day life back in Romania of 2015. Is highlighting the contrast between the modern life with the all the gadgets and technologies and the reminiscences of the communism from Romania. The life is becoming more and more virtual, with virtual friends, virtual love, virtual sex, buying virtual cloths for virtual characters from virtual games. The real life is slowly disappearing behind the virtual one. The character of the painting set a side his real life in the detriment of the virtual one. The painting is part of my Bachelor final project named Broken Puzzle, composed from 4 artworks. Oil on wood panel.

"I love figurative art especially painting people and faces. Through my canvases and the use of dynamic strokes and bright acrylic colors I want to convey a high energy towards the viewer. My paintings are subjective, In my artworks I am depicting my own perspective of the subject by capturing a key moment, mood or emotion. At the moment I am exploring fast painting with broad brush strokes, bold color schemes and strong contrasts." Alexandra was born in 1986, in Zalau, Romania. As a kid, she loved watch her mother paint, but she discovers her talent only in her early twenties. She studied Fine Arts at “University of Oradea” where she graduates top of her class. She loves figurative painting, especially painting portraits, but also approaches abstract art and different themes and subjects. She had exhibitions in Romania in cities like Oradea, Cluj Napoca, Bucharest, and in the UK in Cardiff and London. She lives and works in London since 2015.
