In a song by Airborne Toxic Event called Sometime Around Midnight, there was a particular line in the lyrics: "the curl of our bodies, like two perfect circles entwined". I've always loved that line and when I started sketching out two women having a soft, intimate moment, that came into my mind, so...

I am a painter/photographer from London, and also work in mental health. I studied art, fashion and photography until I graduated from university, where I continued doing creative internships and working as a photographer. When I began experiencing mental health difficulties myself, I veered into work in mental health and wellbeing, but remained creative with mostly personal projects. These two areas impact each other within myself, so I look for ways to merge them in my work. My paintings are themed on values I deem important for mental health and the ability to flourish: community, inclusivity and pleasure. These themes are explored through vibrant scenes and intimate moments drawn together using luscious jewel tones you want to swim in and take a taste. I want viewers to be able to imagine what it could feel like, smell like or sound like. Music playing, birds calling, water trickling, a caressing breeze, sweet chatter of people or the heat of the sun. I use predominantly acrylic on canvas. Each painting is named after the subjects - figments of my imagination maybe, but I love to see them enjoying blissful safety, freedom and connection.
