The fifth journal painting I made I continued thinking back to and exploring my experience of high school. I was homeschooled all the way through 'till college, except for one semester. I am an only child and I grew up on a street that had no other children to play with. My only interaction with kids my age was at church twice a week and at homeschool group. The idea of the journal painting is to make large paintings more personal and intimate, more enveloping. There is a lot of handwritten text that is just me journaling on the surface. Because the piece is so big it is impossible for me to photograph it at my home, so I have stitched together several photographs to show the whole piece of art.
