ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This Abstract Expressionist Landscape, is the first in a series of paintings I made symbolic of planetary change. For a number of years I have been interested in the effect that man is having on the planet. Juncture represents the moment when Mother Earth communicates her need for change. I have depicted this using swift energetic brush strokes to mirror disturbances in the land. Dripping gashes in the sky appear like Christ’s mortal wounds, in the chaotic landscape image. Amidst all this, a heart, shaped in thick red paint is reflected back at itself emphasising the planet’s need for love and nurturing.
