This piece is exploding in dimension. First, I crafted the shoreline using molding paste, glass sand paste, and gold leaf. I painted it for dimension as well, so that it looked like a sandy beach that waves had just pulled away from. Then I worked on the water area, using pre-molded dried and colored resin shapes to create the feel of a raised wet sand bed in the shallow waters with speckles of silver leaf sprinkled throughout to speak to the metallics of underwater rocks. After this prep work, I mixed several shades of resin and poured the whole piece. Blue-green went over the water, White for the waves, and gold and clear for the sand. Bits of the texture peek through for a stunning visual experience that is like looking down from a helicopter. There is so much beautiful oceanic movement in this piece.
