About The Artwork

This painting represents a woman who takes a moment for herself, a moment of peace. It gives room for your own story. Is she tired, was she reading or writing a letter? To me, her pose is a symbol of this hectic time, in which you can only maintain yourself by sometimes isolating yourself and turning inward and relying on your own strength. The painting has a lot of texture: thick layers of paint are painted over each other with a lot of depth and structure. The painting is made on a high quality linen. The frame of the painting is very solid and made of aluminium, the sides are painted in a neutral grey colour. The painting has a direct, vivid expression and has lots of structure, layers and texture. The painting is finished with a satin varnish.

Artist ART Eva Maria -------------------------------------- SOURCE OF INSPIRATION "Looking at people's faces and trying to figure out how they feel and what they think - that is my source of inspiration. This mysterious aspect fascinates me. Afterwards I will tell my own story - in colours and lines - about these people using various visual tools." -------------------------------------- I see nature (both landscapes and faces) as a gift that shows itself to me. I'm trying to catch the feeling that's inside of me, while being an observator. -------------------------------------- Showing the reality is not important, it's my personal impression and emotion that I wish to communicate. This is a very intuitive process during which my hand glides on paper or canvas. This way I am able to tell my own story in layers, colours and lines. Afterwards the art is not mine anymore and open to other people's eyes, making new stories as well. I'm always searching for new ways for my art (small to large sizes, different techniques) to travel and show themselves to public.
