Inspired by the Jewish ritual, Keriah. Keriah is a deep expression of grief that involves the tearing of clothing over the heart especially upon the death of a loved one or a personal tradgedy. The torn pieces represent the clothing and the colors used an expression of grief and the many changes that occur within us during the process.

Amy Elizabeth was born in Glassboro, New Jersey. She moved to North Carolina to attend High Point University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. With a studio art background, Amy has experience and is trained in all art disciplines, but she enjoys exploring mixed media collage and painting currently. Her work is abstract and expresses deep emotion. The work is intended to cause the viewer to connect to the art in some way. The abstract quality lends a sense of mystery and intrigue. Amy works as an art educator to High School students in an inner city school in the North Carolina public school system. She paints and creates from her home studio and shows her work in local galleries.
