Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic and Screenprinting on Canvas.

Medium: Oil & screenprint on canvasYear Created: 2006

From a body of work made during my M.A. in Fine Art at the University of Sunderland. This piece featured in The Celeste Art Prize where it was shortlisted in the Student Category in 2006. It utilises motifs from gaming and twists and contorts them into an imagined three dimensional space. Once again my work plays with the idea of two and three dimensions and this piece featured in my first major solo show at the Fishmarket, Northampton in 2008. The bright colours and extraordinary shapes are partly inspired by Thomas Scheibitz and various other German painters such as Sigmar Polke.
