ABOUT THE ARTWORK
LA FLEUR ABANDONNÉE - the abandonned flower, standing alone, in the sunset. Does she feel lonely? Or is she fine by and with herself? We do not know ... Her surroundings, however, are colourful, cheerful, the orange shining brightly. The acrylic paint is applied in partly thick layers, which gives the painting an almost three dimensional touch. It is another one of my series of small paintings. The painting itself is 6x6cm, framed it is 17.5x17.5 cm. It is sold matted in a solid white wooden frame behind glass (the glass can be left away, so that the energy of the painting can run more freely..).

I am a Czech-born and now Germany based painter. In my works I explore the essence of what surrounds me: why do people act the way they do? What lies beneath the surface of what meets the eye? What are we driven by? To express what I sense beneath the surface I feel drawn to different materials and a range of colours, which I apply in different layers on my canvases and papers, using a variety of techniques including scratching, brushing and printing. This way expressive works are created, some reduced to basic expressions, others rich in colour and texture.
