Heidrun Eskens shows abstract compositions, visual phenomena that in their aesthetics strongly resemble the experiments of the Op Art. Small dots on colored backgrounds, dramatic rhythmic distortions in tonal variations, but also highly contrasting, Eskens plays with perceptual processes, confusing the opposite of her most extensive work. If observed more precisely, they seem to vibrate. The artist, through her own way of processing the canvas generates an illusion of movement, it creates virtual works which requires the participation of the beholder.
