Art Description

Painting: cyanotype, Gouache on Paper.

A littoral zone is an area that changes by the tides, sometimes being land land and sometimes being water. My work is inspired by phenomena of nature and science.
Cyanotype is a process that creates a cyan blue print through UV exposure, and I enjoy working with sun and water to create the work. I tone and bleach the prints and incorporate multiple exposures to achieve complex layers and a variety of colors. I often incorporate drawing and painting on the surface as well, so they are truly mixed media.
