I paint because it is the only way to express myself by remaining silent. "To have reached the age of fifty-nine without handling a brush or fiddling with a pencil for 35 years, to have regarded with mature eye the painting of any kind of mystery, to have stood agape before the Art in many museums and exhibitions, I find myself plunged again in the middle of a new and intense form of interest and action with paints, palettes and canvases, and not to be discouraged by the results, is an astonishing and enriching experience. I should be glad if these works, the experiment which I have tried, and if some at least were to find themselves covered with an absorbing new amusement delightful to themselves, and at any rate not violently harmful to man, beast or nature." (Thank you Winston) Inspired initially by the French Impressionists I had started to develop a pointillist technique in black and white through gray (acrylic) covered with layers of colored polish (oil) resulting in realistic though distant atmospheres. Later on it is the work of artists such as David Hockney, fauvist Kees van Dongen and Lucian Freud that will have a great influence on my choice of subjects and thematic but especially on the evolution of my technique, composition and colors . A colourful freckle effect if you want. Je peins parce que c'est la seule façon de m'exprimer en se taisant. Pour avoir atteint l'âge de 59 ans, sans avoir touché un pinceau depuis 35 ans, mais avoir visités beaucoup de musées et d'expositions des maîtres et styles que j'admire avec des yeux plus mature, je me retrouve aujourd'hui au milieu d'un intérêt et plaisir intense a travailler avec la peinture, les pinceaux et le canvas. Je ne suis jamais découragé par les résultats car l'expérience en soi-même est très enrichissante et satisfaisante. Je ne peut et je ne veux pas expliquer la peinture mais juste pousser comment obtenir ce sentiment de plaisir, satisfaction. J'espère juste que ce travail modeste inspire d'autres personnes à expérimenter ce que j'essaie de vivre chaque jour. C'est un grand bonheur et amusement. Et ce qui est le plus formidable, c'est que ca fait aucun mal ni à l'homme ni à l'animal ni à la nature.
