ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece evolved as I put down layers of paint, collage and used negative space to create the shapes of the moths which are visible on closer inspection. Little images of paper collage lighthouses peek through as well. At a distance the viewer is taken all over the painting with the use of contrast, in a path like appearance—a labyrinth—which lends itself to a quiet meditation. Labyrinth has been accepted into a juried Mixed Media art show called Fusion at the Metchosin ArtPod commencing July 2nd, 2021.
