Art Description

Painting: Watercolor on Paper.

Lamas House belonged to Stephen Keynes OBE FLS a grand child of Charles Darwin. It was around this time I was working on a new dance piece about evolution, which he had partly commissioned. Paintings of his garden seemed to me a perfect preparation for such a task, although I had been painting his garden for some years.
Watercolour is quite unpredictable to use but I love the unexpected things that happen on the paper in the action of painting, insects love the colours and the paper was often visited by different kinds of flies, bees, wasps and others.
