Lantern: The Sacred Flame Painting

As mantras take to the air, something within stirs, a hymn which makes no sound, a dance that has no body... this inner luminosity continues when the chant stops. This painting uses hidden mantras, on the left one sees 'nuh' and s, on the right the 3 matra of the om. In the centre three lines curve. The three key nadis. What sound do they make as they unfurl like a lantern, flame in the centre glass on either side. We have tried to make the painting sing with hidden hums, that calm, reassure, enrich. The work is on buff coloured textured paper. The strokes minimal, almost calligraphic in manner, haiku in restraint. A cardboard mount encircles the painting making it, 13"x13".
