About The Artwork
This was inspired by photos I found of my dad attempting to evade a champagne dousing as he disembarked from his A-10, to commemorate his last flight at Myrtle Beach, S.C. I liked the shapes of the cropped airplane in the original photos, made more mysterious from aged condition of the images. I wanted to convey something of a narrative, but without getting too specific, so that the viewer could also appreciate the shapes and compositions.
