About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by a trip with a painter friend to see this great salt marsh, one of the largest left on the East Coast of the USA off the Long Island Sound in Connecticut. I have viewed it in all seasons, but this one is mid-summer, colors are crisp and stunning at sunset. I enjoy painting places that have been saved from development by the EPA and other coastal and wildlife organizations to help highlight the importance of keeping areas pristine and natural. This salt marsh is home to something like over 250 bird species, and is up for special status with the Audubon Society at this time. I hope they are approved!
