Painting: Acrylic, Ink, Oil on Canvas, Wood.
I begin a painting and then I end it.
I push it and pull it. Painting is a rollercoaster. Some rides are gentler than others. Paint goes down, and then more, until I have something to start. And then it begins. It is like landing on a field.
In an organic manner, I respond to what is in front of me. It can be a wonderful meditation in between the rollercoaster moments. I have no plan. I am influenced by ideas, people and places. I am a visual sponge, eyes-wide-open – everywhere. From oil in a gutter to last light on a castle.
This work is playing with organic shapes woven with geometric shapes, line and segmented sections. Can you see the large centered circle in the piece? As with all of my paintings, people say they GET LOST in them. There are many layers and stories within the story.
