Legend has it said Painting

Coming from a mix-cultured background, I have been fascinated by the lores that were told in different cultures, as well as the amazing rich arts that have been conserved from the history. This collection is a well wrap-up from the “isolation” lockdown life I experienced in the pandemic, the best part of the silver lining was the discovery of myself, and my love for art (again). Based on the East Asian folklore of Kitsune, also name as the fox goddess in the Chinese and Korean folklores, and the “new-world” we now experiencing aftermath of the pandemic, the world is healing when there’s no human interaction and pollution, animals are coming out again and seeds are growing, even the air is brighter. The relationship between human and the nature is never apart, we needed the nature more than we can ever known. The word “Kami”, it means god in Japanese but it literally means Us/We in Malay and Indonesian; while in the Chinese and many Buddhism teaching, that “god" lives in all humanity, which deals with the same concept as numinous in the western philosophy. This 5 pieces of painting evolves from Ō-Inari, Legend has it said, The Silver Lining, The Pilgrimage and Kami, tell the stories of our colourful events before the pandemic, and how the global traumatic disaster had fallen, swept us out of the comfort zone but also left us with the will to look forward and not take granted of all little things nature has been sharing with us. Kitsune, a symbolic concept I adapted from the stories I was told, depicts the nature, a relationship we, the human can never live without and should not has taken granted for.
