About The Artwork

The painting depicts the four elements (water, fire, air and earth) reshaping the existence of matter and life in a Universe of darkness. More specifically it depicts a prehistoric scene from the end of the Cretaceous period moments after the massive extinction of species, among these the dinosaurs. The remains of a triceratops can be seen on the right side of the painting. The sky is covered by dark clouds, but light still filters through reflecting on the water and on the rocks thus aluding to a new beginning in the story of life on Earth. The high rocks, resembling the ruins of cathedrals and buildings create an analogy that we humans are not any less vulnerable than any other creature on this planet.
