Since an early age, my interest in metaphysics has greatly outweighed my interest in what we call reality. I would often consider: Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? Where are we going? Where are we coming from? I consider art an activity that can give me answers to these questions. For me, being an artist is to be a magician, an alchemist, a shaman, a sorcerer, a mystic. My artwork is about the Universe and its unity in the infinite diversity of elements. I explore the heterogeneity of the Universe depicting 1) its juxtapositions between chaos and harmony, 2) its constant change and movement and 3) each of its parts containing the whole. All this creates a visual multiplicity that I call "Energies", which is what makes up the universe. The spaces that are inside, going through, and in between the forms of what is visible are permeated and filled with something formless; with the raw material of all things. It is alive and it is always impelled toward more life. The variety of elements in my paintings represent several energies vibrating simultaneously. I describe these energies of the Universe through highly saturated colors to generate optical effects, a range of gestural brushstrokes to create a sense of overall rhythmic movement and superposition of shapes to produce the illusion of tridimensional space. My paintings have multiple readings: a first one that comes like a blow, in which all areas clamor in unison at the top of their lungs. Other readings are more contemplative when one notices the smaller spaces and realizes that each painting is in fact the sum of its parts, that is to say, of various smaller paintings, both possible and openly suggested by the work in question. Each part of one work of art is significant and different from the rest. Several moments are visualized and expressed with diverse techniques. The selection of the colors and shapes in each contrasting plane corresponds to an emotional, psychological and physical moment.
